Two tenure-track positions at Georgia Southern University

We have two very good tenure-track jobs, with 3/3 teaching loads, available to begin in August of 2014. More information about our Department is available on our website: http://class.georgiasouthern.edu/writling/

The first job is in the area of writing studies, with a specialization in writing assessment; the formal position announcement follows: Georgia Southern University’s Department of Writing and Linguistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The position requires excellent teaching, service, and research responsibilities as well as a terminal degree in composition/rhetoric or a closely-related field. The successful candidate will help to lead the department’s ongoing writing assessment initiatives. The candidate will also teach three courses per semester with primary assignment in the area of Writing Studies and/or Rhetoric, with opportunities for work in related areas. The position requires teaching, service, and research responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The ideal candidate contributes to the development of the Professional and Technical Writing area, the online Bachelor of General Studies program, and other Department programs and activities. The successful candidate teaches three courses per semester with the primary teaching assignment in the area of Professional and Technical Writing.
